Most folks are quality folks. Period. Generally speaking, many have gotten into the lazy habit of throwing "good" and "bad" around ... and its often times subtly or not so subtley at people. It can get to be a real drain on the old gas tank, especially when you're fighting fires like this economy is stirring up.
One thing I practice with myself and encourage my clients to do as well is to try to switch the language from "bad - good" to "off target - on target." The underlying message you're feeding yourself and each other then has the potential to gradually rise you out of the mud ... to where you're in touch with the Truth --- you're a collection of fine people working your tails off, and if you're off target, its only a matter of time before you're on target, or getting closer.
Bottom line - I like to challenge my clients, especially those facing the toughest conditions, to become more aware of the language they're using, their tone of voice, their facial expressions ... To periodically ask themselves whether the language they’re using or the way they're acting ... is helping their cause.
These little bad habits can become viral in a company and the final straw that kills the company. They must be pruned at the core and the new behaviors rolled down throughout the organization in order for you to have a prayer of a chance in this challenging economy.
